Neeta and Varun's Wedding by Photosutra.net
A Tete-a-tete between myShaadi.in and the Bride
This time we decided to take a little unconventional route and conducted a mini interview of sort with Neeta - the bride. Here is their Love Story! :)
How did Varun and you meet each other? Was there some instant connection (you know, sparks et-al)?
Varun and I met through common friends two years ago and since then we have been the best of friends. There were no sparks as such when we met, atleast not that I remember. (But Varun admits that it was love at first sight for him. We got to know each other well as friends and over time things got serious. :)
How did your story evolve? Any particular moment that you still remember from your early days?
Varun asked me out some two months after we first met, and initially I was unsure whether two good friends could be more than friends. But over a year since we met, we had become such good friends that we found it hard not to meet often . We decided to get married to each other so that we can spend the rest of our lives together. The first trip we went for together with our friends (a trip to Bekal, Kerala) will always be cherished although we were just friends then.
We both love traveling. I love to click and Varun loves to click me. Varun loves movies and I love popcorn. Varun loves to cook and I love to eat. He loves to drive and I love going on long drives. So we are like the perfect match!
When did you guys decide to tie the knot? (who proposed?)!!
One year after we met, we decided to get married. Varun proposed more than once before I accepted. But now I only wonder what took me so long! I cannot really think of a better person to spend my life with.
Varun is the type of a guy who is easy to be with. He was always there for me whenever I needed a shoulder to cry or whenever I had a reason to celebrate. It feels great to be married to my best friend. It could not have been better than this.
Was it a short courtship from engagement to marriage? Tell us something about the marriage preperations? Did someone go crazy?
We had about a 3 month courtship from engagement to marriage. We had additional 3 months from the date the wedding got fixed to engagement. However we found out that 6 months isn't a long period when someone is making arragements for a wedding. Weekends and weekday evenings were always jam packed. With help from Varun, I did most of the arrangements myself. Managing my job and shoots plus my own wedding was a tough task but when I look back I think I did just great.
How about the wedding photographer part? Being a photographer yourself, what qualities were you looking for in your wedding photographer? Any first impressions of Anand?
I always wished there was a way I could shoot my own wedding being a creative photographer myself. So obviously when I was looking for a wedding photographer I wanted one whose style is somewhat similar to my own and someone who is really passionate about his/her work and gives his 100% to capture the most important memories of his client's life. I found that in Anand. What I liked the best is his chilled-out and calm way of working amidst all that hustle-bustle and mad rush that is a wedding. That is really important for a creative wedding photographer. You really need to be calm during the shoot for the creativity to flow and have your thoughts clear about what you want to shoot, what you possibly can shoot. You cannot lose focus even for a minute or else you'll miss out an important moment. With Anand shooting, I didn't have to be worried about any important moment being missed. He is focused, meticulous and creative. I very much enjoyed working with him. He did a great job in capturing the best moments of my life and Varun and I are very happy we chose him.
Also, he is a super friendly guy which instantly helped in making me comfortable in front of the camera (Although I'm no stranger to being behind a camera, I am still not used to being in front of one!)
How were the two days of marriage? I'm sure you were the center of attraction, but did you get enough time to absorb the hustle?
Two days went by like a supersonic aircraft. It was over even before we noticed. We were so worried if things would fall into place but thankfully everything went well. And it was the best two days of my life!
Which were your favorite memories from your wedding?
Tying the knot which sealed the bond is obviously up there on top. Plus there were some emotional moments with my family.
Any photographs that light you up when you look back?
I love the shot we did in the corridor (the one on the left). Loved it!! (The first picture of this article)
Any recommendation for our readers on going about choosing a wedding photographer? Any particular wedding planning tips?
Start the preparations as early as possible. It's a lot of work!! Choose a wedding photographer early. Brief him/her about the events well in advance. You can even get some creative ideas by talking to him/her. Plus plan a small couple shoot during the wedding. It may be hard to find time for it but it's well worth it as you will be in your emotional best and it will come through in the picture.
Choose a photographer who is creative, fun and friendly. It is very essential that you look comfortable and be yourself in the pictures.
