Exclusive Sneak-Peak into Anju Modi's Collection @Delhi Couture Week, July '12
Designer Anju Modi speaks to MyShaadi.in about her Indian Wear Collection 'Devi' which is to be launched at the DELHI COUTURE WEEK on the 10th of August '12 at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi.
Inspired by works of Bengali literature and Satyajit Ray's popular Bengali film, 'Devi' and defining the trend for this season , Anju has created a collection with minimal work and subtle embroidery. Her collection is one that can be worn by a woman on more than one occasion.
The 'Devi' Collection is all about depicting elegance and appealing the aesthetic sensibilities of the modern age Indian Woman.
What makes it stand out
What makes this collection exclusive is that it represents the multifaceted culture of Bengal. It is artistic, romantic, rooted and creative. This season, Anju Modi weaves a dream collection commemorating the ethereal and yet very real iconic characters from Bengali Literature that defined and epitomized womanhood on silver screen. Be it the thought provoking characters of a Bibhutibhushan's "Apur Sansar" and Bimal Mitra's "Saheb, Biwi, Ghulam" , the dichotomous "Charulata" from Tagore's "Nasthanir" or the subtly seductive protagonist in Sarat Chandra Chattopadhya's "Parineeta", Anju Modi's endeavor to levitate women in all its avatars would only begin to flourish through her collection as it finally burns through the memory of every fashion connoisseur.
The designer creates her work by exploring within herself for she believes that it is within us, that we preserve whatever we absorb from the universe. Quite unique in her approach, and a believer in herself, Anju Modi is ready to sizzle the Delhi Couture Week with her 'Devi' Collection.
