Bridal outfit for your body type
Wedding shopping is a pleasurable task, but certainly it can turn tedious if you are not sure of what you want and what will look good on you. It is important to know your body type in order to choose the best look. It's every girl's dream to have a stylist fussing over them at a glamorous wedding. Let's have a look at what kind of wedding attire suits what kind of body!
Your body is classified as pear shaped if you have a heavy bottom, less on the upper body with a well defined waist line. "People with such body types have to balance their curves by wearing blouses that has both detailing and volume", says ace Bangalore based designer Reshma Kunhi. You could take advantage of your slender waist by wearing low waist lehenga or draping bridal saree just below navel. "Avoid wearing tube tops or fishtail lehenga which will highlight only your bottom", she tips. Don’t add volume to your lehenga if you have a pear shaped body; it will make you appear out of shape.
"If you are choosing an anarkali, go for ankle length flowy ones with khalis from the shoulder as they give slim fit and cover the unwanted curves on the sides and abs. The really slim perfect pear shaped can wear them with yoke and khalis starting from the waist line, this accentuates the slim upper body they have", Stylist Neeta from Bangalore explains.
Women with apple shaped bodies are likely to have broader shoulders and narrower hips. They have slender legs while the tummy region and chest look larger compared to the rest of the body. "Empire length styles with plunging necklines will boost your look. Go for soft fabrics like chiffon, georgette or crepe which will bring out the feminine side of you", Neeta elaborates. Longer length cholis with a V cut from the hem will give poise to your garb. Avoid heavy fabrics like brocade or tissues as they give a very flat look. Women with hourglass figure have the hip and bust in almost equal size with a narrow waist. It is a dream body shape and every woman would crave for this kind of a body. Choosing the perfect wedding for hourglass figure is not complicated at all. "Fishtail bridal lehenga are the great for an hourglass figure. Halter neckline will augment the overall look, corsets also are an amazing option", Reshma opines.
For people with a petite figure, it is advisable to experiment with a lot of varieties. Add a lot of flair and frill in your lehenga."Avoid heavy duppattas whereas a straight cut lehenga with a halter neckline choli will look elegant", Neeta explains.
