Ross & Priyanka - The first 'Real Couple' Shares their Story with myShaadi
Here is our story:
My husband is an avid reader, and a big geek. He loves sharing his latest reading obsession, no matter what it is. One night, I got a call from him and he was very excited. He just had to share this theory of Quantum physics with me. He said, "I just read that if you keep running into the wall, eventually there is a very small possibility that the atoms will pass by each other and you will run straight through." I was amused but I had no clue why he was so excited about it. Then he says, "This theory is just like our story. So many little things had to happen - we came from continents apart, we had to end up in the same city and same school. I had to live in the basement of a crazy old lady's home where I met Tanya, and she had to bring you to my show - for us to even meet. And then for us to fall in love and grow together and become part of each other's different but equally beautiful families, makes what we have even more incredible. At first, I couldn't believe what I had read, but after thinking about all that made us what we are together, I believe anything is possible."
Since I have been married to Priyanka, I have felt that my life is filled with endless joy and infinite possibilities. This was all the more apparent when my family and I travelled to India for our wedding. I had always heard of India's brilliance and splendor but nothing prepared for what was in store. From meeting her family, to learning new customs, words, and ceremonies I was immersed in a new culture. But I didn't feel like a stranger or an outsider. And while sometimes I may have been confused about the details, I knew why I was there: to marry the love of my life. What I didn't expect, should have always known, was that I was embracing a country and a people as vibrant and beautiful as Priyanka.
I never believed in true love until I met Ross. I would read authors like Jane Austin to confirm my belief of how ridiculous is the notion of finding my own Mr. Darcy. My love for my husband was not the story book love at first sight. He was the one who taught me to trust and be loved. He was the one around whom I could break into pieces and knew he would help me up again. It was the process of knowing him, his family, and his perspective on life that has made me believe in true unconditional love. The fact that our families, cultures, and friends accepted us with such open hearts confirms how much we are meant to be together. Today I could not imagine my life without my husband and our families.
