Pre-Wedding couple shoot is a day of pampering for a couple where both of them get dressed up, go to a nice location and spend quality time together. It’s our job to capture that through our lenses. All the couples we have shot with before call that a day they remember for a long time.
We meet up with the couple over a cup of coffee to get to know them better. The brainstorming session results in different interesting ideas. The whole point is to bring out how they want to be photographed, to find out what interests them the most and eventually come up with ideas that will create lasting memories that will bring out a smile on their face every time they see it.
Following are the points that couples should consider when discussing with the photographer:
It's largely the photographer's job to make you feel comfortable. Make sure you discuss your level of comfort in front of the camera with the photographer. So he/she can make an extra effort to make you feel comfortable. Comfort with the photographer and their camera is the most important key to making wonderful images
Depending on whether you like mountains more or the sea, meadows or gardens, you can decide the location for the shoot. It's not just both of you together but that particular space will be carved in your memory for a long time. So it's very important to pick the right one
Meet the photographer a couple of times before, add them on Facebook. That way you also have a better idea about them. Meeting them directly on the day of the shoot will take some time to get used to
Surf through bridal magazines, movie posters, online websites and show the photographer reference images that are closer to the idea you have in mind. The good photographer will pick up on that thought but still make the image very unique to you
Once for a client, we made a photo book of pre-wedding images and also included the snaps of all the greeting cards that the couples exchanged, the letters they sent each other and even pasted the dried roses they gave each other inside. You can always come up with such new ideas to make it more exciting
In case the photographer is travelling to a scenic destination on their own and if your schedules match, try planning a trip to that destination and merge it with a small outing for yourself. This way you can save cost on taking care of the photographer's travelling cost
Below are descriptions of 2 images/shoots below which we talk about the concept behind the two shoots :
We were shooting with Sanju and Lavi in their house. Lavi was trying out different cloths and suddenly her adorable dog Max walked in. Max has been a constant witness to their lovestory. We instantly decided to make a shot was him. It wasn't planned and Max was very uncomfortable with the camera. We acted quickly and made some nice shots in the process. You have to let candid, unplanned moments inspire you.
This was a shoot of two of my very good friends. All the other shots we did were very fun and of a light mood. Becauase thats how both of them are. But this particular shot, we wanted to do something intense. So we strung twinkling lights around their body. It was at night and everything was very quiet. We knew this would make some interesting high contrast shots. And we were glad to see the results.
