We got some expert tips from ace designer, Ms. Archana Kochhar, on what's trending in Bridal couture this season and how to add that style quotient to glam up your winter bridal look!
With the bridal season in the air, what are the latest trends that you would recommend to the Myshaadi brides?
A. Indian wedding dresses are believed to be the most exquisite and colorful in the whole world. Indian Contemporary bridal wear is the latest flavor of the season. I would recommend the brides to go for different silhouettes for their various functions. For the sangeet, one can go for a floor length anarkali or an anarkali lehenga and for the cocktail, one could go for a Victorian gown. The bride's reception outfit could be a sari inspired gown which are very much in style this wedding season.
Every bride prefers to wear a lehenga for her wedding day and I think this looks best in the exotic traditional look.
Your take on the best Bridal color combinations for winter '12?
A. Shades of Red, royal blue, wine and yellow are the most celebrated wedding colors for this season. "Don’t be afraid of colors, rather play with them." I suggest for the sangeet you could opt for an outfit in peacock colors or maybe you could design an outfit with the play of 4 to 5 bright colors blended into one ensemble as the sangeet is all about fun and colors. For the cocktail, you could wear a beautiful wine or electric blue color gown. For the reception you could go for a golden or nude or grey lehenga sari and color block it with the bright colors of the season.
With winters right around the corner, give us some warm bridal styling tips that would make our brides trendy yet keep them warm.
A. Warm bridal styling tip for this winter would be the use of luxe fabrics like Velvet and styling your garment with elongated sleeves which are beautifully enhanced with texturization and embroidery. Velvet gives a royal look in color’s like maroon, blue or purple shades and also the fabric gives some warmth to the body.
What are your designs plans for the approaching bridal season?
A. This bridal season we planning to launch men’s wear for Indian grooms.
What is the best tip that you can offer to a bride while deciding on her wedding outfit?
A. The most important tip for a bride is that she should go for a wedding dress especially designed to achieve the most attractive look for her individual frame. This will help enhance her look and make her feel comfortable in her chosen attire.
