Advent of spring summer 2014 at the house of the Ridhi Mehra label signifies the launch of the new collection. This season witnesses a wide range of Ridhi Mehra garments exploring styles of flared jumpsuits, indo-western summer jackets, dhoti pants paired with embroidered crop tops, shararas, nine yards of a contemporary take on sarees and her signature anarkalis. The journey of this exploration stems from the blooms and bursts of summer and spring. The colour palette depicts the tale of a summer romance with shades like sunny oranges, pale peaches, perky pinks, royal reds and tonal darker shades for the summer nights. The floral vine motifs that adorn the bodice of these garments are done in tones of copper, silver and dull golds to complement the summer palette. Design experimentation in the form of metallic applique work, sequined spray dupattas, clever use of peek-a-boo lace make this collection an Indian summer delight. The classic Ridhi Mehra embroidery retains its statuesque charm in the spring summer collection, concurrently putting a spring summer spin on it. The summer blooms are in swing and drawing from the freshness of the peonies and colours of the summer palette, this season is about the tale of the Indian spring summer romance. Pastels with a sprinkle of fairy dust that make for an enchanting tale of love and pursuit. The dreamy silhouettes and cuts are the ingredients for modern Indian summer revelry. The Indian damsel in pale pinks and convivial peaches paints a story aligning the design and beauty of Indian summer. The fairytale in pastel is best represented by the efflorescence of love and magic, which Ridhi Mehra continues to spin.
